In order to give speedy and transparent information with regard to staff related matters as well as processing & payment of bills of  contractors, vendors and suppliers, Metro Railway/ Kolkata has established a COMPUTERISED INFORMATION KIOSK , which is capable of providing real-time, on-line information to Metro Railway’s staff, suppliers, vendors and contractors on the following areas, with a simple click of a mouse and user friendly interface.

For suppliers, vendors & contractors of Metro Railway/ Kolkata:
Updated position of processing and payment of Contractors’ & Suppliers’ bills for each contract/ purchase order issued by Metro Railway. The information terminal is directly connected on real time basis to the main server of the Information Technology Centre of Metro Railway.
Security:
In order to give complete security to the vendors, suppliers & contractors of Metro Railway, who wish to know the current status of bill & payments pertaining to contracts executed by them, special password system has been developed consisting of 2 levels of security, which will ensure that the information is kept confidential and is accessible only to the authorized user.
Benefits:
This facility will bring total transparency in the critical financial processes related to suppliers/ vendors & contractors as per the directives of Government of India.  It will also give instant staff related information for greater staff satisfaction.  In due course, the bill payment status is proposed to be extended to the Metro Railway’s Website so that all Metro Railway contractors and suppliers are able to access their payment status directly through internet.
